About Us

At Zélie Martin Classical, we are focused on learning essential skills in an ordered, sequential way, applying these skills to learn the greatest of what has been thought and said, and creating a culture of diligence that is accessible to children with varying gifts. We see all of this as a means to cultivate true human flourishing, the flourishing that comes when we live according to our nature as persons made in the image of God.

We are working well and learning well so that we can live well.

Our Patron

A mother of nine, Zélie Martin homeschooled her children in their younger years, raised children with special needs, experienced child loss multiple times, ran a profitable lace-making business, built a community of work-at-home mothers, and battled a chronic, terminal illness — all while raising her five surviving children who would go on to dedicate their lives completely to the service of Christ!

“The good Lord does not do things by halves; He always gives what we need. Let us then carry on bravely.”

— Zélie Martin

Leadership Team

Jennifer Tutwiler

Director

Jen Tutwiler is a second-generation homeschooling mother of seven, with three graduated and four still at home. She and her husband are also blessed with a lovely daughter-in-law and two precious grandchildren.

She has an Associates Degree in the Liberal Arts from Christendom College and is a past contributor to Seton Magazine and the Simply Classical Journal. She co-founded a three-family classical co-op which ran from 2016-2020, and is former Director of an online Socratic discussion program that served over 35 families nationwide during the same time period, before retiring to focus on her special needs homeschool and healing from a chronic illness.

Today, Jen is a frequent session speaker at Memoria Press’s annual Sodalitas Conference, and primary moderator for an online Facebook community for classical, special needs homeschoolers.

Anna Tutwiler
